Day 1
Day 1 – Drive to Zagora via Ouarzazate
We start our 3 days tour to Chegaga desert in Morocco with an air-conditioned 4×4 vehicle at 08:00 from Marrakech. We cross the High Atlas Mountains – Tizi-n-Tichka Pass driving along a picturesque and picturesque region to reach the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, the most famous ksar in Morocco (ksar = old village of kasbahs). Lunch will be in Ouarzazate or Agdez. The journey passes through the Draa valley with its palm trees and old Kasbahs. The night with dinner will be spent either in a Hotel in Zagora or in the Tent.
Day 2
Day 2 – Zagora – Mhamid – Sacred Oasis – Dunes of Erg Chigaga
After breakfast, our adventure in the Erg Chigaga desert continues through the palm groves of the Draa valley. After a short break in the panoramic view of the Draa palm grove, we will make a stop at Tamgroute to visit the famous Koranic library (Closed on national and religious holidays) and an underground Kasbah, we will continue towards M’Hamid, a small village – the last town and major oasis of the Draa before the great wasteland of the Erg chegaga sahara. Then we continue our 3 days desert tour from Marrakech, another 60 km off-road from M’hamid to Erg Chegaga dune. This largest group of Saharan dunes in the region reaches a height of 300 m and extends over an area of 40 km. Dinner and overnight in a Berber tent camp after a 40-minute camel ride to enjoy the golden desert sunset.
Day 3
Day 3 – Dunes Erg Chigaga – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech
After breakfast at Erg Chegaga Bivouac, departure in 4×4 via the old Paris – Dakar circuit towards Foum Zguid crossing the dry natural lake of Iriqui, lunch break in the Berber village of Taznakht. We arrive in Marrakech late in the afternoon around 6 p.m. and you will be dropped off in your Riad.
