Itenerary
Day 1 – Marrakech – Ouarzazat
We will leave Marrakech early as it will be quite a long trip. The route will take us through the High Atlas on impressive mountain roads. We will enjoy the views over the picturesque valleys and Berber villages. We will pass by sellers of semi-precious stones as we head towards the Tizi’n’Tichka pass. It is the highest pass in the Atlas. You will then begin to see semi-desert landscapes with Kasbahs and small houses made of earth and straw. Around lunch time, we will reach the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, often served as a natural setting for many films and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. We will visit the Kasbah then continue to Ouarzazate, a modern military city, built by the French and one of the gateways to the desert.
